Lindsay Taraban, Ph.D.

Dr. Lindsay Taraban is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh.  She is currently funded through the Innovative Methods in Pathogenesis and Child Treatment (IMPACT) T32 from NIMH. She received a B.A. in English and Honors Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her Ph.D. in Developmental and Clinical Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship in Pediatric Psychology at Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston, TX). Her work has focused on predictors of parenting behavior during infancy and early childhood, and how a positive parent-child relationship can be protective for young children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development in the context of adversity. She is particularly interested in how fathers and mothers influence one another and jointly contribute to their children’s early development.
